Our first casualty

We had our first real injury on the job. We have had several nails stepped on, but they only went into the shoes and not into feet. We also have had scratches and bruises, but no big deal. Today I had to drive Joe home because he smashed his finger on an empty stomach which led to him nearly passing out each time he sat up. We got him home and cleaned it all up and dosed him up with arnica to keep some of the swelling down and now he is going to rest peacefully for the next few hours. I fed him too and basically treated him like one of my clients. I doula'd him through the clean up process :)

We joked that I should buy some non-dissolvable suture material, but now I am thinking that isn't such a joke and maybe I really should have some on hand for this renovation business. Our deductible is HIGH.

Notice that it is his index finger that is hurt, but yet he is showing me a different one. Hmmm.... maybe he wasn't a fan of the camera. Also, please pretend to not notice how filthy the floor is :)

  1. I love your blog Erika! I got to know your husband when he was a student at FVTC. The two of you are some of the most entertaining people in FB. Can't wait to hear more about your renovations!

  3. I am ordering some right as I type this. I feel pretty comfortable putting anything other than faces back together again and should be prepared.
